The Design Document Arc (J Blog 2)
Author: Julian Voros
This week I signed up to tackle the whole of the design document for the game. As making a video game is an arduous process with many tasks and things to get done sometimes its better to take a task to yourself and lighten the load for the team. That should not have been the case with the design document. As I went over the design documents whopping 27 pages of information i needed to add I would realize that this is not a one man job. However I still trudged on and kept at it insisting my team that I have this in the bag. The design document was a long process filled with details we need to include about what we are doing in the game. There was no singular problem that halted me throughout this journey besides the mass amount of writing I had to do.
4,900 words later and we had a fully fleshed out design document hopefully filled to the brim with concepts, work processes, and design details that would please the professors. There was no moment that I felt like I overcame a huge obstacle or blockage, it was more about staying consistent and not letting the mass amount of words overwhelm me. The design document's first draft was finished and submitted and I had hopefully done my job successfully.
Down here i included some cool flow charts I made with a peak at the main character's design page.
